CARING FOR YOUR DOBE'S EARS

Once the stitches are out, the taping comes in. Make sure that the wound has healed; otherwise keep the stitches on a couple of days longer. What I use are the big plastic straws used in “Zagu”. Cut the straw to the length from the base to the tip of ear. (Fig.2). I then wrap this like you would your sprained ankle with toilet paper to make it comfortable for the pup when you put it in his ear. I extend the tissue on both ends and fold to cushion the ends. One layer of 3 ply toilet paper would be good.
Now I get 1 inch masking tape, starting on one end, I would start to roll it, overlappinghalf of the previous round of tape. The first chance you get, reverse the tape and start rolling the other way so that the sticky side is outside now. Trickymove! When you’re done with this, you’ll have a great support for your pup’s ear. A work of art!
